Pact

Zach, the founder of Restless Raven Games and in collaboration with Wulfhorn Games are the publishers of Pact. Pact is a heavy weight, highly asymmetric board game, about tiny bugs playing grand politics.

We approached Pact like every other project of ours, by playing the game and finding the strong points of it. This way we made a compelling script that would guide our trailer. The text was voiced by Zach himself, bringing his epic voice to the tiny kingdom of Branchbourne. The trailer opens with a mix of 2D and 3D animation which later transits to live-action footage. With lights that imitate sunlight and lots of plants, as well as their shadows, we surrounded Pact with nature. The video gives a thematic introduction and focuses on the basic actions and mechanisms, keeping it engaging with special effects. To give the impression of the tiny bug kingdom, but also to emphasize the game’s heaviness, all the video is filmed extremely close-up. Photoshooting as well as extra video edit variations were made to be used as promotional material and social media content.
